Senior Financial Analyst
Position: Sr. Financial Analyst
Type: Full-time
Salary range: To be determined
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering with applicable coursework in accounting and finance. MBA or related advanced degree strongly preferred.
Experience: 7+ years of relevant work experience developing budgets, performing financial analysis, working with financial models and creating financial reports.
Job Description:
Reporting directly to the CFO, this mission-critical position will be actively involved in conducting studies to improve the operational and financial effectiveness of the Company. The position will be responsible for evaluating business processes within all areas of manufacturing to determine impact of business activities and drive adoption of change and management of key metrics.
Required Skills:
- A thorough understanding of GAAP financial reporting and accounting principles, financial analysis techniques, capital budgeting processes
- Strong communication skills
- Proven problem solving skills and analytical abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent computer skills and high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel Using various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, and statistical and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.
- A thorough understanding of paper mill operations. Knowledge of financial accounting systems in the pulp and paper manufacturing sector is a major plus.
- Experience in the following areas beneficial: Papertraq, FRx, 4Site, SQL Server or Crystal Reports
Major Job Related Duties:
- Working with other personnel to identify and recommend cost improvement measures.
- Reviewing costs and performing cost benefit analysis related to capital investments, projects and/or programs.
- Developing financial reports for forecasting, trending and results analysis.
- Prepare monthly financial, cost, and variance reports, business analysis and forecasts to be presented to Senior Management.
- Evaluate business processes within all areas of manufacturing to determine impact of business activities and drive adoption of change and management of key metrics.
- Work with other personnel to identify profit improvement measures.
- Report on key manufacturing strategies and develop processes for managing data that will be used product pricing, customer segmentation, and strategic planning.
- Perform ad hoc analysis.
- Develop and maintain rolling 3 year capital plan working closely with operations and engineering.
- Perform moderately complex statistical, cost and financial analysis of financial reports and data and effectively communicate analysis, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of organization
